Advocacy in Action: Title IX Workshop

Do you know a survivor of sexual or gender based violence or harassment? Are you a survivor? Are you interested in knowing where to go and what to do if you encounter sexual violence? Are you wondering about accountability for perpetrators of violence? Join Ever Hanna, Training and Case Manager at UMBC's Office of Equity and Inclusion for an overview of Title IX and campus sexual violence that will answer these questions and more. Participants will learn about the laws, policies, and best practices that govern sexual violence reporting and prevention on college campuses.

Please join us for an interactive session on Bystander Intervention where we will unpack the intersections of violence and reflect on how this impacts our likelihood to intervene in harmful situations. Participants will also learn bystander intervention techniques, also known as the 5 D’s, and reflect on when and how each method might be right for you. New Student Orientation is an opportunity for incoming I/O Psychology students to receive information and resources that will allow them to make informed and appropriate academic plans, as well as acclimating them to the campus environment.
