Advocacy in Action: Title IX Workshop

March 9, 2021 @ 4:30 pm - 5:45 pm

Students collaborating at table

Engage with representatives from UMBC’s Office of Equity and Inclusion as well as a private, non-profit agency, TurnAround, Inc. during our Advocacy in Action workshop series.

These three workshops will take place online (via Webex) on select dates in March and April and are open to both undergraduate and graduate UMBC-Shady Grove students. Sessions will focus on a variety of important topics related to Title IX, identifying healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviors, and bystander intervention techniques.

This week’s session is the Title IX Workshop.
Do you know a survivor of sexual or gender based violence or harassment? Are you a survivor? Are you interested in knowing where to go and what to do if you encounter sexual violence? Are you wondering about accountability for perpetrators of violence? Join Ever Hanna, Training and Case Manager at UMBC’s Office of Equity and Inclusion for an overview of Title IX and campus sexual violence that will answer these questions and more. Participants will learn about the laws, policies, and best practices that govern sexual violence reporting and prevention on college campuses.

Please click on the RSVP button below to attend an upcoming workshop in our series that is of interest to you! Logistical details will be emailed to students who RSVP several days prior to your scheduled workshop.
