Biotechnology Symposium: Antibody Expression in E. Coli

Engage with representatives from Montgomery College, Frederick Community College, and UMBC as well as local biotechnology industry leaders though our Training & Employment in Biotechnology virtual symposium!

This semester-long symposium will take place online (via Zoom) from 4:00 – 4:45 pm on select Monday afternoons throughout the spring semester. Sessions will focus on a variety of topics related to the intersection of viruses, vaccines, and the biotech industry.

This week’s topic is: Antibody Expression in E. Coli. E. coli is a common platform for recombinant protein expression. An interesting observation regarding translation initiation was made while expressing an antibody. Presented by Zvi Kelman, Director BL2, NIST.
