Event Assistance

Masks are not required on The Universities at Shady Grove campus, including in classrooms, with limited exceptions. Masks are required in patient care areas, or for anyone who has had a positive exposure to Covid-19. Most UMBC-Shady Grove events will be hosted in spaces where masks are not required, but we will have masks available for anyone who would like one.

If you are sick, please stay home and reach out to us if you’d like to schedule a visit at a different time!

Download the Webex app to your mobile device to join the Webex session. If you already have the app you can select to use the app that is installed.

1. Prior to the event, download the Webex Meetings app to your phone.
2. On the day of the event, select the session you wish to attend through your event confirmation email or the event webpage.
3. Fill out your information (first name, last name, and email address that you used to register for the event).
4. Click the “Join Now” button and select that you would like to join using the app that is installed.
5. Click “Start” and you will join the session.

During some of our virtual programs, you may be asked to join breakout rooms in Webex Meetings. For instructions on how to join a breakout space via a desktop or mobile device, please visit the WebEx Help Guide for full instructions.

If you experience any issues joining WebEx using the link provided, for some events you may be able to call in for audio only by dialing: 1-202-860-2110. If this is an option for your event, a 10-digit meeting number will be provided on the event page or within your email confirmation.

Note: In order to fully participate in our event, we strongly encourage you to join from a computer or the free WebEx app. Participants who call in to the meeting will have limited functionality, including inability to join breakout rooms.
