Financing Your Education

UMBC has repeatedly been named a Best Value University. At UMBC-Shady Grove, we strive to give our students as many options and resources as possible to bring down the cost of education and lower barriers to success.

Tuition & Fees

UMBC-Shady Grove students receive the same quality education as students who attend UMBC in Catonsville. Therefore, tuition rates are the same. However, our students benefit from lower student fees.

Student Business Services maintains the most up-to-date information on tuition and fees.

Use UMBC’s cost calculator to determine your specific expenses.

Financial Aid

Every student should fill out the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) each year to determine eligibility for federal grants and loans. Visit UMBC’s FAFSA FAQs for our most recent guidance.
