UMBC-Shady Grove Back-to-School Celebration

The UMBC-Shady Grove Resource Fair will run from 1:00 to 6:00 pm in the lobby of the UMBC-Shady Grove administrative wing in the Clifford and Camille Kendall Academic Center (Building III, outside of the UMBC-Shady Grove Welcome Center, room 4159).

• Check in for our Back-to-School Celebration and pick up UMBC swag!
• Learn more about UMBC and USG resources
• Meet a UMBC Academic Advocate
• Let us snap your picture and help you submit your request for your UMBC ID online
• Stop by USG’s Auxiliary Services Office in the BSE (room 1316) to have your USG ID produced
• Grab a UMBC themed activity for the kids!

Join the UMBC-Shady Grove Peer Advisory Team for snacks, games, and connection – Peer Advisors will be available to greet UMBC-Shady Grove Retrievers and their families from 1:00 to 6:00 pm.

Students have the opportunity to connect with various representatives from USG and UMBC-Shady Grove during our three “Sessions for Success” (all sessions are hosted in building III, room 4124).

• USG Service Centers and HireU (1:30 – 2:00 pm): Learn more about USG’s service centers and hear a quick introduction to HireU, USG’s new career readiness program!
• Student Success: Resources and Support at UMBC-Shady Grove (2:30 – 3:00 pm): Hone in on the resources available to you and the “to-dos” you need to complete to successfully LAUNCH at UMBC-Shady Grove.
• UMBC Student Disability Services Information Session (3:00 – 3:30 pm):  Learn how to register with SDS, explore accommodations available to students at UMBC-Shady Grove, and greet Cassie, one of our UMBC SDS staff members!

A number of our UMBC-Shady Grove Program Directors will be in their offices and available to meet YOU from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.
