Information Session

Mechanical engineering at UMBC-Shady Grove is a hands-on program where students collaborate with a tight-knit group of peers and professors to apply their knowledge to real-world problems in and out of the classroom.

Pre-Transfer Advising

Pre-transfer advising appointments will be offered virtually or in-person via ongoing 30-minute appointments throughout the day. Slots will be available from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 1:30 – 6 p.m. Please schedule your preferred appointment slot HERE.

Open Period: Lunch, Student Organization Engagement & USG Campus Tours

At any point between 12 – 3 p.m., grab a boxed lunch, relax, connect with others, and take in The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) campus!

From 1 – 3 p.m., we encourage you to participate in an open opportunity to engage with UMBC mechanical engineering students and the UMBC mechanical engineering-related organizations of which they are a part.

Optional USG Campus Tours will be offered from 1 – 1:45 p.m. and 2 – 2:45 p.m.

This event will take place entirely in the Biomedical Sciences and Engineering (BSE) Education Facility at The Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, Maryland. The check-in table for this event will be located on the first floor of the BSE Facility directly ahead as you enter the front doors. Please begin your visit at the check-in table.

Attendees should plan to park in Traville Gateway Garage (in the gated area) for best access to the USG campus. Please see our event assistance page for additional details.
