Advanced Computing and Analytics Pathway

The Advanced Computing and Analytics pathway focuses on advanced knowledge of data science techniques and theories. Students with backgrounds in computing will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge Computer Science topics that are relevant to Data Science.

Admission to the Data Science graduate program
Background in computing

Courses

In order to complete the pathway, a student must complete three courses from the following list of courses. Most of the following courses have prerequisites. Students will need to consult with the Program Director to see if they are eligible to take a specific course.

Career Outlook


The demand for highly skilled Data Scientists continues to explode. The Harvard Business Review called data science the "sexiest job of the 21st century." Glassdoor ranks Data Scientist as the #1 Best Job in America in its 2018 rankings.

Employers seeking data science professionals include Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and IBM. Graduate of this pathway could seek jobs such as Data Scientist or Senior Data Analyst.
