The UMBC Cybersecurity Program is proud to bring you Cyber Talk, a new speaker series that highlights special topics in Cybersecurity.

Join us at The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) for an informative and engaging discussion on digital forensic techniques and how these techniques are used in the incident response and Cyber investigations. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and hear about the latest trends in industry.

Topic: Cybersecurity as a Team Sport - Understanding Counsel’s Role

As a key part of critical infrastructure, cybersecurity in the nuclear power industry is highly regulated, insuring critical systems are well protected from attack. This lecture will examines the overview of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) cybersecurity audit program as it relates to regulations and required controls for all commercial nuclear power plants.

Speaker: Joe Cristiano

Joe has executive management experience working as a consultant in leadership positions in both the private and public sectors including The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, The U.S. Department of State, The Discovery Channel, IBM, Andersen Business Consulting, Unisys Corporation, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC. Currently working as a contractor cybersecurity Specialist for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission performing cyber security inspections and providing cybersecurity expertise to the NRC. Also, Joe is a recent graduate of the UMBC Masters in cybersecurity program.

About the Cybersecurity Association at USG

The UMBC Graduate Cybersecurity Association at USG is an organization created and managed by UMBC Cybersecurity graduate students at Shady Grove. The mission of Cybersecurity Association is to promote the study of Cybersecurity and to raise Cybersecurity awareness and knowledge in the community through panel discussions, conferences, and Cyber competitions. Also, the Cybersecurity Association aspires to create a supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to network, learn, and grow.
